Fashion marketplace for pre-loved clothes, currently operating in Tunisia and are looking to expand in North Africa and the Mena region.
Dabchy lets women revamp their wardrobes easily: They can earn money by selling their used clothing online, buy other clothes at discount prices and share their personal style. It is a fashion marketplace that operates as a trusted third-party between buyers and sellers assisting the whole process by charging 20% commission on every transaction.
Dabchy is simplifying the process of buying and selling clothing items through a functional web and mobile platform. The platform secures all steps of the transactional process from payment to reception of the items ensuring delivery to ensure complete customer satisfaction, prevent fraud and fight against the sale of counterfeit items. The second-hand clothing market is growing and becoming bigger every year. More than 70% of the world’s population uses secondhand clothing. In Tunisia, almost 30% of the total population buy secondhand clothes, according to the Trade Union Chamber of the Import 2018.
Dabchy is expanding to Egypt, and here is why: out of their total population of 100.3 million, there are 49 million internet users, of which 8% make online transactions. (most of them younger than 30 years old; they are using their smartphones and computers). Most online transactions are in the categories of electronics, entertainment, airline tickets, and fashion. “[Hootsuite 2019 Report]
