The Tunisian American Enterprise Fund has welcomed in its office on Monday August 31st 2015, the visit of a US government delegation: Her Excellency Mrs. the ambassador Anne Patterson assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern Affairs, and MrTom Malinowski, Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.

This visit aims to be a discussion meeting on TAEF activities progress and its perspectives for the year to come.

Up to this date, TAEF has then invested directly and indirectly for a total of TND 10 million in the SMEs and approved an additional amount of TND 15 million allocated to projects in progress and projected for up to the end of the year.

During our discussions, the American delegation has re-affirmed its support to TAEF initiative which highlighted the importance of job creation via the investment and the necessity of an economic inclusive growth of women, youth and regions.

The Tunisian American Enterprise Fund, currently capitalized at 60 million dollars, is born from President Barack Obama and the American congress initiative with the objective of contributing to enlarge employment economic possibilities in Tunisia, catalyzing the investments, promoting the private sector development and supporting inclusive economic growth (including women, youth and interior regions in Tunisia).

TAEF strategy focuses not only on direct investments in Small and Medium enterprises but also on Tunisian financial institutions (PE funds, microfinance institutions, leasing companies…) targeting an additional category of enterprises as compared to the one targeted by TAEF.
