Economic Counselor
Emily joined the U.S. Embassy in Tunis as Economic Counselor in May 2026. She previously served as Deputy Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, where she managed the team covering Gaza and the West Bank. As Deputy Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, she coordinated the Mission’s $133 million in annual foreign assistance.
Emily has also served in Washington and at the U.S. Embassies in Rome, Baghdad, Amman and Bogota. Before joining the State Department, she worked at the U.S. Department of Energy and at the Women’s Foreign Policy Group in Washington.
She is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and holds a master’s degree in international economics and American foreign policy from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
Emily is originally from Louisville, Kentucky.
